Gingerbread House

I'm back!

The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Naples always features a huge gingerbread house for the holidays.
It represents more than one thousand man-hours of work.

  1. The Norway House in Minneapolis had a collection of gingerbread houses featured in last Sunday's newspaper, much smaller than this amazing house you photographed. I stopped on Monday to see them but they are closed on Mondays. Drat, but your post today is a reminder to go visit. I am sure that many people are interested each holiday season in the Ritz Carlton's display.

  2. The people you've included in this photo show very well how enormous this gingerbread house is.

  3. That has got to be the largest gingerbread house I've ever seen. Is it really edible, and does anyone ever eat part of it?

    1. Taken, the house has a wood frame for support, but everything else is edible. It is probably seriously stale when the time comes to dismantle it, so I doubt anyone actually eats it.

  4. Wow, that would be something fun to see. We recently lost our Ritz Carlton. It sold to another chain (Marriott I think) and is in the process of going through renovations right now.

  5. I love the Ritz Carleton! We were fortunate to stay there a number of years ago on our wedding anniversary courtesy of our youngest daughter. What a place. And the golf course was great fun; designed by Greg Norman but I didn't see him around at the time.
