Zebras and wildebeests often feed in the same fields. They are compatible herbivores
and they cooperate by using their different skills to warn when predators are near.

This is a male giraffe. His horns are thicker and the ends are worn from fighting.
Two waterbucks, a male on the left, a female on the right.
They have shaggy coats and white butt markings.
Great to see all these wild animals.
ReplyDeleteJack your photos are brilliant, have been back and enjoyed them from the beginning. What a wonderful trip you're having.. Of course there is no competition.. baby Willa wins absolutely :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful adventure you are having. You must make a separate book of these photos for Willa. What child wouldn't love to have one with your photos and narrative?!
ReplyDeleteMore fabulous pics, Jack! I wouldn't want to see the kill taking place.
ReplyDeleteJack, you are so lucky! I've never seen Black Sable antelopes in the wild.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love being able to share your fabulous trip and the animal captures are awesome!! They did take my breath away this morning and what a terrific start for my day!! Thank you, as always, Jack, for sharing the fun and the beauty!! Have a great new week!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful images, Jack !
ReplyDeleteApart from the zebra giraffe...? these are again wonderful photos. I am amazed at all the varieties of horns these creatures have. Presumably they all serve the same purpose so one marvels at the differences.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to get to see all these animals in the wild. Marlin Perkins could not have done better. That wild dog was caught in most civilized moment, but I wouldn't want to put that to a test.
ReplyDeleteQuite a mix of animals... the wild dog looks quite distinctive.
ReplyDeleteYou are capturing some fantastic moments. Thank you for sharing these. I am enjoying them immensely!
ReplyDeleteThese are great pictures. Looks like all the animals cooperated with you!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Jack, what an adventure you had. You may want to edit your giraffe pic - he won't like being called a zebra.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular animal shots! It looks as if you had some amazing sightings. That lilac breasted roller is glorious. And the mammals aren't too shabby either. Great photography. Lucky you!
