Benches

This year the Elizabeth Park Conservancy renovated the 600 benches in the park.
A vendor scraped and repainted the metal supports and replaced all of the wooden slats.
The project was supported by generous donations.

  1. If they redid 600 benches that was a lot of wood! I LOVE it that the park is so well loved that enough donations were raised to support this.

  5. Here the funds are through the city, with a schedule for replacement of park benches and playground equipment set up.

  6. 600! Gosh, it must be a large park. It's very nice to be able to sit comfortably on a generous bench and watch the world go by.

  7. Quite a lot of benches. This spot alone looks like a fantastic spot for a bit of respite.

  9. Big job but so worth it! I don't know if the park needs a bench every six or eight feet but there's little less welcoming than a shabby bench.

  10. 600 hundred benches! That is amazing. The tree is the star in this photo. It looks magnificent. I also like the way the light is reflecting off of it.

  12. That is a lot of benches. Where do they put 600 benches? The renovation would have taken a lot of "generous" donations for sure!
