This year the Elizabeth Park Conservancy renovated the 600 benches in the park.
A vendor scraped and repainted the metal supports and replaced all of the wooden slats.

The project was supported by generous donations.
If they redid 600 benches that was a lot of wood! I LOVE it that the park is so well loved that enough donations were raised to support this.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear, Jack!
ReplyDeleteOh, wonderful to read indeed and that is a LOT of wood!! A well loved park indeed!! Hope you have a great new week, Jack!
ReplyDeleteNow to sit and rest a bit in the dappled Sunday warmth.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very worthwhile project.
ReplyDeleteHere the funds are through the city, with a schedule for replacement of park benches and playground equipment set up.
ReplyDelete600! Gosh, it must be a large park. It's very nice to be able to sit comfortably on a generous bench and watch the world go by.
ReplyDeleteQuite a lot of benches. This spot alone looks like a fantastic spot for a bit of respite.
ReplyDeleteThat's worth a few bucks. It does the community good.
ReplyDeleteBig job but so worth it! I don't know if the park needs a bench every six or eight feet but there's little less welcoming than a shabby bench.
ReplyDelete600 hundred benches! That is amazing. The tree is the star in this photo. It looks magnificent. I also like the way the light is reflecting off of it.
ReplyDelete600 hundred benches? Surely you jest! It must be a huge park.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of benches. Where do they put 600 benches? The renovation would have taken a lot of "generous" donations for sure!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful composition, Jack !
ReplyDeleteThat was quite an undertaking Jack, a job well done!
ReplyDeleteThis post and the photo make me quite happy. Thanks, Jack!
ReplyDeleteI am obviously all for the benches!
