Elizabeth Park


Back in Hartford.  So, where did I go first?  Elizabeth Park, of course.


The spring bulbs have been removed from the annual garden and the replanting is underway.


The shade garden was replanted this spring.  It will take a while to mature.


The rose garden is in the early days of bloom.  Peak is about a week from now.
The foreground plot is the one I support in memory of my parents.  The rose is American Pride,
a tall, strong red flower.  That fits my parents.



Richard played the flute in the perennial garden while Margaux listened. 

And Adam spent some quiet time with his guitar in the herb garden.

    I'm guessing that if I lived there, this would be the first place I'd go too! What a great series of photos. I love that people come here to play a little music and enjoy the outdoors.

    Jack, that is a beautiful garden. I especially like the roses in the plot dedicated to your parents. The flute player looks like an interesting person.

    I don't think I've understood until now how vast Elizabeth Park is.

    I feel like I'm home! How lovely to keep roses in memory of your parents. They are not as popular here as they once were (too much maintenance, I guess) although they are such exquisite blooms.
