Woke up early, saw a pretty sunrise on the lake, and rushed outside with my camera.
Left Squam Lake. Drove through Sandwich and noticed a beautiful little public library.
Went to the Audubon Society's Loon Preservation Center in Moultonborough
and learned some more about loons' lives and challenges.
(I photographed this loon a few days earlier on Squam Lake.)
Drove through North Conway. (You really don't want to see photos of all the factory outlet stores.)
But, ended up at the charming Notchland Inn at Hart's Location in Crawford Notch.
G'nite, folks. Back in Connecticut tonight.

ReplyDeleteYou were moving right along and catching some nice photos along the way.
ReplyDeleteHave a good trip home!
ReplyDeleteWell right from the moment you opened your eyes it was a good day Jack, thanks for sharing your trip.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be out in one of those kayaks!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful day! Your week at camp went quickly, Jack.
ReplyDeleteYou do have fun, Jack!! I'm so glad you share it with us! Your captures are the next best thing to being there myself!! I'd like to be out in one of those kayaks, too!!
ReplyDeleteThat sunrise is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you were in England: Hampshire, Sandwich (I think it's in Kent)and then there's that marvellous spelling of Moultonborough which quite frankly, I'd have thought you'd spell Moltonboro :-). And the cherry on the cake: Crawford Notch sounds like something right out of 'the Midsomer Murders'.
ReplyDeleteThere. Having said that, I think your photos are wonderful!
Pretty country, Jack. But you, as a photog, are supposed to set your alarm to get up early and go photographing! Lovely sunrise, whatever. I like all these places.
ReplyDeleteThe loon interests me because I believe it is the Minnesota State Bird. Maybe. But when I lived in Minnesota I knew better: the mosquito is the Minnesota State Bird!
That sounds like a perfect day to me. Especially love that first shot. You covered some beautiful territory.
ReplyDeletePerfect sunrise shot, worth getting up for. Love the loon too, love the name. We call them divers.
ReplyDeleteThat sunrise is gorgeous... and I really like that library. The loon is a frequent resident in our lakes.
ReplyDeleteWow! what a beautiful sunrise Jack ... a perfect start to a busy day.
ReplyDeleteAlways satisfying when making a little effort leads to a great photo. Usually I arrive just too late to get that perfect shot but you've nailed it here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sight to start your day (and mine. It is just before 8am here.) Love your shots along the way to Connecticut.
