Hartford's Travelers Tower is dressed in scaffolding as a multi-year renovation continues.

Here is the headquarters of Leninergo, the electric company in St. Petersburg.
In Moscow and St. Petersburg, when a major building is being renovated, they
cover the work with a building-sized canvas painted to show the building when completed.
Some might argue that open versus closed is an apt metaphor.
That scaffolding makes for a good and interesting picture!

ReplyDeleteStill jacket weather in St. Petersburg in June. Something I'd expect in Anchorage. I suppose the latitude isn't too different.
ReplyDeleteThe canvas doesn't seem to have a practical purpose, and I wonder why that method is used, although it satisfies curiosity.
ReplyDeleteThe skyline and the streetlamp in the second shot are interesting balance points. And it looks as if the northern overcast didn't discourage people from hanging out.
