These are all butterflies that show up at the Desert Botanical Garden for their spring or fall butterfly pavilion. That should not be a surprise since the butterflies here actually come from Florida. The pavilion just opened the first of March but I haven't been yet. I need to get out there this week.
Beautiful captures of beautiful butterflies!! I do love the Zebras!! You're really into the nature thing these days, Jack, Lowell is right, time for some golf!!
What brilliant shots! I'm so impressed you were able to take notes and lovely photos at the same time. They look so ethereal, yet strong and striking...
The docent looked to be holding a tarantula to me. (I saw one big enough in Death Valley once that it cast a shadow.) Lovely butterflies and nice shots of them. This looks like a great place to have fun with your camera.
great shots!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. There's an excellent Butterfly "garden" near Boca Raton also.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like you're spending way too much time in gardens and at races instead of where you are most needed - the golf course!
How lovely!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous little creatures! The Zebras are amazing.

ReplyDeleteYou are very lucky to have seen such beauties and been able to make them sit still for us to enjoy.

ReplyDeleteGee, we go all the way to Dave's place in Costa Rica to see these. I could save some money. They are magnificent, though, wherever you find them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! We get some swallow tails here in the warmer months. I love the color on the zebras.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful job it must be !Are you sure the lady is holding a butterfly in the first shot?..
