Some viewers asked where my South Africa photos are.
I am still here for another five days, but time and good internet access are quite limited.
I thought you might like to see the rustic farmhouse in an isolated field in the
Golden Gate Highlands where we stayed one night last week. It is on the west side of the
Drakensbergs, near Lesotho, just outside the Free State town of Clarens.
Two beautiful horses visited the next morning.
It's not so often that I can see pictures from South Africa.I like very much what you're showing!
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely! The top photo is truly beautiful and the visiting horses are a delight. Alan Paton was right when he called South Africa, the beloved country. I would so much like to visit it again! I am happy that you get to see it, and I cannot wait to see other photos.
ReplyDeleteahhh what an amazing trip!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see them all. These look very promising.
ReplyDeleteThese are great Jack.
ReplyDeleteWow. I can't get over the horses. The one in back has its ears forward, listening and the one in front has his backwards listening to hear any sounds his pal might make. I love these animals. I am also fascinated with your adventures in South Africa.
ReplyDeleteNice photos. It's a fascinating country. The country also produces some very fine wines, but I think more to the southwest from where you are. Enjoy your trip.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your wonderful photos from this trip. Will look forward to seeing more of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving us a glimpse of an unfamiliar place. Have a safe and comfortable trip home.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful place to stay and such lovely company you had.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to share these with us, Jack, I know how busy all of you are trying to pack as much as possible into the time you are there! These are terrific and I can't wait to see more!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI hope to see more of these great pics when you get back, Jack!
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous landscape, Jack!
ReplyDeleteIt's true I haven't seen many SA photos anywhere. It looks beautifully wild here. What a treat to see the horses.
ReplyDeleteWhat a spectacular setting, and equine visitors to boot! Did one actually come onto the porch? And what is that equipment back behind the house?
ReplyDeleteThat countryside is so gorgeous. I hope you'll share more pictures of your trip.
Beautiful scenery. Cannot wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful looking park.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beautiful, I am looking forward to seeing more too.
ReplyDeleteFantastic, Jack. Keep an eye for a thatched house for me :).
