Mel's was an institution for many years in San Francisco. I wonder if these are related. The Florida Mel's are flashier...but I guess I'd expect that from Florida.
Great icons of the past;we have one in downtown St. Paul which I should probably post again. This one is a bit more spiffy than ours; at least it looks that way from your photos. I wonder how many of these are still around in the US?
