Daytripping: Sol Lewitt IV

Let's try a couple of photos in which some helpful MassMOCA visitors agreed to stand and look at the Lewitt works.

  1. Photographing the works with visitors in front gives these pieces a sense of scale. I'd like to know what the first piec is called. It looks a lot like a blank computer screen. :)

  3. The first one appears blank, and the second makes me dizzy! Interesting.

  4. I really appreciate your photos of visual art and museums. Love them all, even if the art does not appeal to me personally. Is the line down the middle of the spectators back a reflection or part of the design of the jacket?

  5. Fun shots. Of course, I would have loved hearing your approach to these nice people to appear in your photographs. Well done!

  6. Nah, the people didn't help. I think I'd wait outside. :)

  7. Haha! I'm still enjoying your analogy re short blonde versus tall brunette or any combination therein from the last post Jack. Wonder how a 5ft 3inch blonde would fare!!

  8. That one on the bottom might make you a little dizzy if you stare at it too long.

  9. Fascinating exhibit and terrific capture as always, Jack! It really does make a difference in ones perception when there are people included, I love it! Enjoy your week!!

  10. @Kate, the lines on his jacket are shadows projected from the mullions of the windows behind him.

  13. Actually I like exhibit photos with people. The bottom one is very cool, not only because of the almost hypnotic panels but also for the shadows on the floor.

  18. Just caught up on all these. Looks a great place to explore. I do like some of the works. These black and white ones might have me falling on the floor rather than standing though. They look rather disorientating.

  20. OH that black and while spiral, I think I would faint or get sick!

  21. Do you have a strong stomach? Vertigo might set for me looking at those swirls for any length of time.

  22. The spectators seem to be part of the paintings. That top on is really fantastic

  23. Great pictures! I'm afraid I'd get dizzy if I stood looking at that art for very long.
