The Mucky Duck

The Mucky Duck is a popular restaurant on Captiva, an island just beyond the island of Sanibel, Florida.  The food at the Mucky Duck is good, but the setting might be even better, especially at sunset.  I think Susie still wears her old Mucky Duck tee shirt.

The Hartford Courant has a headline, "Potentially Historic Blizzard to hit Connecticut on Friday." Hartford is expecting up to two feet of snow today.  One forecasting service predicts snows up to three feet.  Good luck, folks.

  1. What a difference between the two parts of the country! It rained heavily here in Charleston, but the area needs moisture so no complaints. This area of Captiva looks divine...one could almost "worship" that scene.

  2. Beautiful light, Jack.

We are getting snow here in Ontario too. It's actually very pretty as long as you don't need to drive anywhere. :))

  3. The Mucky Duck is a favorite with the entire SDP staff. It's changed somewhat, though, since it was sold recently. My favorite time to go out there is between Thanksgiving and Christmas -- pleasant weather, zero noseeums and few tourists. Enjoy the sun and warmth, Jack!

  7. I was curious whether you are down in Florida rather than in Connecticut for the big storm. This time you are in the right place at the rigtt time.

  11. Looks like a perfect unobstructed view.
I just took a look at a New York web cam to see if it had started to snow but, all I saw was rain. But, it sounds like the north easterners will be digging out soon.

  25. I'd rather like a 'Mucky Duck' tee shirt Also Jack, very cool. What a glorious sunset..how warm does it get in Florida Jack? For example here in Perth the next four days the weather is going to be over 40C, how does this compare..what I'd give for a frosting of snow!
