Reports from Connecticut indicate that last weekend was unseasonably warm, with daytime temperatures in the 50s. Connecticut blogger friend Sue from
Idyll Haven went for a walk on the beaches at Hammonassett State Park on the Connecticut shore. She sent this photograph of the jetty at Meig's Point for me to share with you. The day was foggy and the water was glassy still, quite a contrast from the days when Tropical Storms Irene (2011) and Sandy (2012) lashed the shoreline and damaged the jetty.
A very peaceful scene. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a fine photograph. Thanks to you and to Sue.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful artwork, congrats for the photographer!

I had been hoping for a sunset. Maybe next time. Despite the lack of visibility though it was a delightful day to walk the beach in January.
ReplyDeleteIt may have been warm last weekend, but the weather report I just heard on the morning news said that it will snow in Connecticut today. I recommend that you stay in Florida a while longer.
ReplyDeleteAnd the jetty is still like in the picture?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shot! I can't believe that while we had temps that didn't make it to 50, the east coast was having warmer temps then we are. Our cold spell is supposed to end today. Thank goodness, I've run out of sweaters.
ReplyDeleteYou are having some amazing temperatures for mid January!! Such a peaceful, lovely scene! Thanks to you and Sue for sharing! Have a great day, Jack!
ReplyDeletePeaceful and pretty Sue!
ReplyDeleteNice one Sue. 'Shades of Grey'!
ReplyDeleteJust tempting us with beach scenes in January. Your weather is warmer than it is here in south Texas. Is your serene ocean just the calm before the storm?
ReplyDeleteNothing like a walk along a foggy beach. Nice of you to employ a freelancer, Jack!
ReplyDeleteThe photo has an almost dreamy something...
ReplyDeleteSeems a tad unusually not to have blue Connecticut skies. Lovely photo for this time of year!
ReplyDeleteIt hit 60˚F here on the weekend and it was wonderful! Sue took a fine pic of the jetty, Jack!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's been warm here too. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks cold.
ReplyDeleteA great photo Jack
ReplyDeleteLove the place and the picture!
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been much too capricious all over the states, which is a pretty frightening concept. Your photo, however, certainly is not frightening...very appealing.
