Guest Photograph: Jetty at Meig's Point

Reports from Connecticut indicate that last weekend was unseasonably warm, with daytime temperatures in the 50s.  Connecticut blogger friend Sue from Idyll Haven went for a walk on the beaches at Hammonassett State Park on the Connecticut shore.  She sent this photograph of the jetty at Meig's Point for me to share with you.  The day was foggy and the water was glassy still, quite a contrast from the days when Tropical Storms Irene (2011) and Sandy (2012) lashed the shoreline and damaged the jetty.

  3. I had been hoping for a sunset. Maybe next time. Despite the lack of visibility though it was a delightful day to walk the beach in January.

  4. It may have been warm last weekend, but the weather report I just heard on the morning news said that it will snow in Connecticut today. I recommend that you stay in Florida a while longer.

  5. And the jetty is still like in the picture?

  6. What a beautiful shot! I can't believe that while we had temps that didn't make it to 50, the east coast was having warmer temps then we are. Our cold spell is supposed to end today. Thank goodness, I've run out of sweaters.

  8. Just tempting us with beach scenes in January. Your weather is warmer than it is here in south Texas. Is your serene ocean just the calm before the storm?

  11. Seems a tad unusually not to have blue Connecticut skies. Lovely photo for this time of year!

  15. The weather has been much too capricious all over the states, which is a pretty frightening concept. Your photo, however, certainly is not frightening...very appealing.
