We will return to the Wadsworth Atheneum's exhibition of French art and sculpture later.
Last night Naples, Florida, had a nice, old-fashioned evening Christmas parade along Fifth Avenue, the main shopping and restaurant street. Marching bands (wearing Santa hats). Politicians (wearing Santa hats). Decorated and lighted cars and trucks and fire engines (with drivers and passengers wearing Santa hats).
I am flying back to Hartford tomorrow for Christmas. Scenes from Connecticut will resume in a few days.
I would really like to watch a Christmas parade here!
ReplyDeleteSounds like someone made a fortune selling Santa hats in Naples Florida Jack!! This is a super cool image, you've captured the fun so well, you must be chuffed with this one, I would be for sure..
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a lot of fun! A very nice night shot too. :)
ReplyDeleteThe light and shadows in this photo are masterful.
ReplyDeleteGreat night shot, wish you a nice flight.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun parade. It also looks a lot warmer at night in Naples than it is in Phoenix. That dry desert air, must cool off lots quicker than the Florida air.
ReplyDeleteA short-sleeved parade! Great shot.
ReplyDeleteNaples is one of my favourite places in Florida - there is real street life there with galleries and cafes and of course the thrill of watching the sun set from the beach. Wonderful sky in your pic, Jack.
ReplyDeleteFlorida and French Riviera have this in common: we celebrate Christmas under palm trees!I like the mood and special light in this picture!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the Sunshine State on HDP! Hope the Editor-in-Chief is providing double compensation for double duty. Nice capture...and safe travels.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm makes me wish I was in the Santa Hat business!!! Fun capture for the day! Have a safe trip back to Hartford!!
ReplyDeleteLove 5th Avenue in Naples. We've had many happy times there! Love this shot, too.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice flight! And bring warm clothes!
A Christmas parade is something new to me, great night shot, Jack!
ReplyDeleteThat's cool. I prefer fir trees to palm trees at Christmas though. Have a safe trip.
ReplyDeleteLooks fun, we don't have Christmas Parades much here. We do however, have lots of Santa hats!
ReplyDeleteVery festive. What a shame it doesn't snow there for Christmas, though. :))
ReplyDeleteI've always found it a bit odd to have Christmas type colors and decorations along with palm trees. They seem out of place.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot with that light.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shot of a fun event.
