Library

The Christine E. Moser Library at the New Britain Museum of American Art is decorated for Christmas.  The NBMAA's original exhibition space was in a stately stone mansion given to the museum in 1934.  The library is in that building, which today is used mostly for research, administration and children's programs.  Most of the exhibition and gallery space is in the 2003 Chase Family Building.

  2. Delightful.

If you can't have chocolate, perhaps an apple from this table might do the trick?!

  3. Obviously the term New England is used a lot. I was not aware that people also call your area New Britain. New Britain is also a series of islands off the northeast coast of Papua New Guinea.

  4. Very elegant. I love libraries. I could sit at that table for hours... but the centerpiece might slowly disappear.

  5. It's funny, I always seem to prefer color over monotone when I'm looking at photos but, your sepia version of this picture seems somehow fitting for this scene. I like it.

  8. I vote for the colour but the sepia has a nice old fashioned feel to it.

  10. Libraries are very special places where the best of our society's knowledge, literature, and art are collected for anyone who wants it. Beautiful photos. While I love monochrome photos, in this case the color one is warmer and more inviting.

  11. Jack, both photos look good, but I like the real one better than the altered one. What I like best of all is getting to go to all of the interesting, beautiful places around where you live--with you and your camera. Thanks!

  12. That's gorgeous. I like the color version much better for its warmth. Outdoor cold and indoor warmth is a good theme for the season.

  14. An elegant holiday design for the room. The garlands over the windows really speak to me.

  17. I must agree with the others on this one Jack, when it comes to Christmas, colour looks good, but I love the 'aged' look the sepia gives, did you take that second shot a hundred years ago in another life haha!
