A Pulchritude of Weimaraners

A pride of lions, a parliament of owls, a gaggle of geese.  Until I learn differently, I am going with pulchritude for two or more weimaraners. Especially, if they are Lola and Sequoia.

Daughter Susie lives on a farm outside Johannesburg with a husband, sheep, guinea fowl and a pulchritude of weimaraners.  It is summer there now.  A feature of  South African summers is rapidly emerging cloudbursts and thunder boomers.  Susie sent on a few photos of Lola (blue collar) and Sequoia (red collar) as the clouds rolled in, for me to share with you.

  1. The hoodlums trashed my favorite new umbrella yesterday, conveniently right before another storm. Sheep are still holding their own though.

Pulchritude sound good Jack ... if I were you I'd stick with it ... sounds very classy.

  4. A personal favorite of mine is plethora. Although as it relates to the family dogs, you would most likely reserve it for incidents of favorite umbrella trashings and the like.

  5. They look very, very serious. They take their role of pulchritude as heavy responsibility!

  9. The only weimaraner I have known had a fondness for porcupines. It was not a good combination and involved many visits to the vet. Otherwise 'Baron' was a fine well behaved dog.

My father often referred to a "giggle of girls". I still like it.

  12. You can't help but love these dogs just looking at the photo. Whenever I think of weimaraners, I think of William Wegmans's dogs that he photographs so beautifully. They really are the most photogenic dogs with virtually no fear of the camera.

  16. There is a good reason WIlliam Wegmans made a living photographing his Weimaraners. They are beautiful, expressive dogs which the camera just loves. These are great photos of a pair of fine looking dogs. Thank you for sharing. Bet they had fun tearing up that umbrella, but managed to look really guilty when caught.

  18. How about a syndicate of Weimaraners? They look like they're up to some important business. Like waiting for the dinner bell.

  19. Gorgeous dogs! In your place I'd be tempted to call them my granddogs but that's going too far for some people. They do look like they have a capacity for mischief. Sequoia loks like she's ready to cook something up in the last shot.

  20. These are sweet dogs. I'm not sure about a pulchritude, though. I'd say it's more of a plethora!

  27. I would have to say to Susie, that they look quite remorseful over that business with the umbrella.

    What expressive eyes they have!
