A Frightening Sight
This year I'm seeing more extensive Halloween decorations than in the past. Wouldn't you think this scary guy would cause visitors to the Pond House restaurant in Elizabeth Park to lose their appetites? A questionable business plan!
I really don't understand this fascination with the macabre. Halloween has got to be one of the most stupid of our "holidays." But it ain't gonna change anytime soon 'cause too many people make too much money from its craziness!
Scary!! Definitely a questionable business plan in my eyes!! I'll pass on breakfast this morning, too!! Guess it could be helpful for dieting purposes???? What a weird world we do live in!!! Have a great day anyway, Jack!!
It's horrifying to me. I don't find anything amusing in this stuff. When we were in the Seattle Art Museum last weekend there was a video of a nude woman rolling her hips with a hula hoop made of barbed wire. Watching was a brief, unhappy experience. This photo made me think of it.
I do not care for the gore. I really don't like it when I take my daughter trick or treating and see adults trying to scare little kids out of their wits 'all in good fun.'
At the Pond House? What were they thinking?
ReplyDeleteHalloween?
ReplyDeleteA bit over the top!

ReplyDeleteI agree! Look at those awful teeth.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I think this would totally ruin my appetite. Heck, I think I'm skipping breakfast today.
ReplyDeleteThat could really scare a kid, I love it!

ReplyDeleteOh la! Jack, that's a wee bit macabre..maybe even a lot haha!!
ReplyDeleteVery mischievous but doesn't quite say "Open the doors and step into an oasis of warmth, music, fragrant aromas"
ReplyDeleteYeah, maybe just a little too much!
ReplyDeleteyekkkkk
ReplyDeleteHalloween!!!

Ouch! This certainly caught my attention, Jack. What with this one and the photo yesterday...interesting things are happening in Hartford :).
ReplyDeleteThat is way over the top.
ReplyDeleteMatter of fact sickening.
I would not have the stomach to even take a pix of it.
I prefer the customs surrounding los dias de las muertas.
ReplyDeleteThat is one scary dude!
ReplyDeleteThis certainly wouldn't attract me to a restaurant. TOo realistic. :S
ReplyDeleteHow odd that we have taken Irish traditions and converted it into the macabre. Never thought torture with barbed wire mixed well with good food.

ReplyDeleteGreat photograph, though.
Makes me wonder what is on the menu!
ReplyDeleteThat is strange ornament, even for Halloween. It tells more about its owner that about the festivity, I'll say.
ReplyDeleteThis is awful...
ReplyDeleteReally powerful! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is not cool!

ReplyDeleteThis should come with a warning!!!
ReplyDeleteI would NOT have visited the restaurant!!
