We seem to have a lot of vintage trucks on Connecticut farms. On Monday you saw the side of an old truck on a farm in Simsbury, half an hour northwest of Hartford. Today you see an old truck on a small farm's flower stand in Preston, an hour east of Hartford. It is a different truck. I guess I just like them.
A quite green truck, I see...
ReplyDeleteI like vintage trucks, too. I drove one for awhile when we first moved to Ocala. Everyone in Ocala has to have a truck, right. It was a Ford 150, 1994 vintage, I think. It was a money pit. I sold it. Now I'm truck free. In Ocala. I'm in a 12-step truck program, though.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful shot what with all those colors and that vintage truck.
Your shot makes it look like a very effective and beautiful planter!
ReplyDeletePicture postcard perfect
ReplyDeleteIt fits in here perfectly.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Jack! Great truck.
ReplyDeleteVintage trucks are wonderful. Love that bird house on the roof. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about vintage trucks. We had a lunch in a vineyard in Sonoma where they drove us up to the picnic spot on the flat bed of a truck that the vintner's father bought new in 1949.
ReplyDeleteI really like old, vintage trucks, too -- we have a lot in common!! Unfortunately, I don't have all the beautiful flowers and the birdhouse that this one does!! Lovely, colorful capture, Jack!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like the stationary variety. I like the ones that show their age but still 'do the business'. aka RUN!
ReplyDeleteGreat scene! Someone's got 1940s Studebaker parked down the street from me.Love those old trucks.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous "old style" photo, great!!!
ReplyDeleteStrange to see how an old truck can match so well with flowers!
ReplyDeleteKeep 'em coming, I can't get enough of old trucks though the ones I see never have so many flowers around.
ReplyDeleteVIJ that is. (Very Important Job).
This is a super use for the old truck, methinks. This shot has a such a friendly feeling to it.
ReplyDeleteYes, a delightful combination Jack. The old vehicles lend a certain "charm" and nostalgia wherever we see them, but this one has sure found a pretty home!
ReplyDeleteI can see why you like them. This one looks especially nice with all those beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteSuch a charming scene. I love seeing old trucks like this.
ReplyDeleteI like his garden art.
ReplyDeleteIf it runs, why get rid of it? I like them too.
ReplyDeleteAs for Maison Robert restaurant, I heard that the owner simply retired(?) and there was no one to take it over. [Don't quote me on that.] The new restaurant there now is Ruth's Chris Steak House, which is pretty good too, though it's no Maison Robert.
You have to like this.
ReplyDeleteGosh, Jack, I love this photo! And it's easy to see why you like vintage trucks, especially in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to like Jack, old trucks evoke memories of days gone by, I think that's what's so appealing about them.
