Outhouse?

This little shed is on the sidewalk outside the building on Pearl Street that once housed Congregation Ados Israel,  Hartford's first synagogue.  As the neighborhood turned from residential into office buildings, the congregation's members moved out of town and the temple was closed.  I showed the building earlier this year.

What do you think this little building is?  I don't know either.

  2. It's an unusual addition to the building. I don't mean to be blasphemous-- I don't know what it's for yet I know what it reminds me of!!

  3. Seems barely fit a person, too tall for a dog, rather unusual as a storage room ...

  4. Given the location, and the time of year, it's probably a Sukkah, or an artistic interpretation of one.

  5. It has sure taken on the "outhouse" look. But, I bet it's just a storage area.

  8. Well, it looks like a pretty classy outhouse to this old farm girl, but it seems a little out of place in Hartford! What a fun shot it is though! You do find the good ones, Jack!

  9. They have gone to some trouble to make it LOOK like an outhouse.

  10. It looks like something they accidentally left on the sidewalk when they moved.

  11. It looks relatively new to me. I say its just a storage shed meant to look like an outhouse. Fun either way.

  12. I was thinking Sukkah too but I think they have to be open to the sky.
The moon makes me think of outhouses!
