Terrific capture! Looks like a piece of modern art!! I love having light like this in libraries! Beautiful! Always enjoy the visits to Hartford and Connecticut and wherever you travel -- they're the next best thing to being there myself! Have a lovely weekend, Jack! Thanks for sharing the beauty and the history!
I like all the levels in this library, too bad all libraries are not as nice as this one. We have many small libraries scattered about the city and suburbs. KC also has a couple of nice ones I need to visit with camera in hand.
Lovely composition and light. I love light buildings, so the skylight and reflective panels are a great idea. I pinched the WV button - the new WV style has been driving me mad!
This library is an example of a spacious, expansive, and proper ventilated room. This photo showed how a roof window can bring such light into this library. And the light made the place warm and more welcoming.
Personally, I prefer to read books somewhere where natural light can reach me. I’m sure this particular setting – the light and the ventilation – has improved every reader’s experience in here; aside from the fact the establishment has been getting big savings from it. :D
Every book lover will surely love to lose themselves on a book on this bright and sunny place. The natural light coming from the roof is conducive for reading. You don’t need a lampshade or any other lighting fixture to light read your favorite book! You can probably read a lot when you are on this library.
A great library in every sense... and I love skylights!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, natural light is perfect for a library.
ReplyDeleteIt must be a great place for reading... cozy.
ReplyDeleteSeems like a really nice venue. Skylights in libraries are such a good addition.
ReplyDeleteLet there be light!
ReplyDeleteps check out Lowell's chairs today and my comment. hahahaha
I KNOW that I would enjoy this library because of its bright open feeling.
ReplyDeleteThe kind of pic I like ,where eyes get lost between up and down.

Love this one! Had you put it in b/w, we would be referring to M. C. Escher. It is a great angle and super perspective, Jack.

ReplyDeleteLove the light but they could use a bit of color, plants maybe.
ReplyDeleteLove the duo-chrome geometry of the scene. It would be an altogether different shot with a blue sky.
ReplyDeleteI"m not a HUGE fan of modern architecture but I think your library looks like a good place to find a good book, Jack. Nicely composed!
ReplyDeleteBon weekend,
V
