What happened to the congregation I wonder. Now this building DOES have charisma, what a shame it's not being used.. I loved the French movie I saw today Jack, do you enjoy foreign movies?
Great composition, Jack. You know I'm attracted to neglected buildings and I think this one is still in a pretty good shape. Hope someone will take care of it soon.
I, too, hate to see buildings deserted! Especially when many of them have far more "personality" and interest than the newer ones! Terrific reflections and capture as always, Jack! Have a great weekend!
A few of the synagogues in the Twin Cities have been put to good use after the congregation moved into new quarters. One, for example, house a delightful childrens' theatre. Good angle, Jack.
The congregation disbanded in 1986. It was the last synagogue in the city. Most of the members had relocated to the suburbs and eventually joined local communities.
i wonder what happened to the community that worshipped there.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely old building. I love the windows.
ReplyDeleteI like the reflection. It's too bad this lovely building is not being used.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that the congregation has relocated to the suburbs. I hope a reuse for the building is found.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is truly a wonderful old building. Thanks for featuring it.
ReplyDeleteI hope they will find a new use for this building...
ReplyDeleteThe paint does look a bit weathered...but, I'm surprised another congregation hasn't moved in. Nice reflection.
ReplyDeleteAlways sad when a building is deserted, especially when it's such a beautyful one..

Congregations, banks, businesses and other institutions move on, only the names engraved over the entrance reminds us of their past.
ReplyDeleteNice shot Jack.
ReplyDeleteLove the details on the windows Jack! I am sure someone will save it.

ReplyDeleteHate to see lovely old buildings standing neglected.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame! Do you know if the congregation built a new synagogue or disbanded?
ReplyDeleteI hope the building gets saved. I would have missed that reflection, wise capture!
ReplyDeleteThat's really a shame. I guess there are not enough congregations to keep all the houses of worship open. :(
ReplyDeleteI hope it finds a loving new owner.
