Days 1 - 3 were in Amsterdam, before boarding the ship bound for Cologne and beyond. There are bicycles everywhere.
I am still away, returning on Sunday. I have posts scheduled while I am away. Who knows? Maybe I will sneak in more photos from the trip . . .
Very interesting angle for the shot. The architecture and bikes "scream" that it's Amsterdam! :)
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!

You choosed two perfect symbols of Amsterdam: bikes and architecture. What an interesting trip you're making!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are on a European River Cruise, which we have never done, but some of our friends have done several and love them. We plan to do some in the future, although we have some other trips planned already (Bhutan and Papua/New Gunea).
ReplyDeleteIt also sounds like you are heading up the Rhine, which is a spectacular itinerary. I look forward to seeing more of your photos. You are going at a time when you should be able to miss the crowds of summer tourists.
LOVE both the angle and the composition. I think it is wonderful that bicycles are so ubiquitous in some European countries. Lucky you to be enjoying this trip. For a fun blog on bikes, go to this web site for Copenhagen Cycle Chic: You'll love it!

Excellent photo, I like seeing some of your travel shots.
ReplyDeleteI read on a blog the other day that there is a challenge to find parking for all the bikes and it made me wish that we had that problem where I live!
ReplyDeleteLove the shot from "beyond" and hope that you will treat us again. Enjoy your trip!

Love it Jack! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Amsterdam. I love the brick and the fall leaves strewn everywhere. I just heard that a couple of friends just returned from a Rhine cruise. Now I'm wondering if you might have been on the same cruise.
ReplyDeletesneak away.
ReplyDeleteThis picture reminds me a lot of the university campus where I work. I'm sure that building is quite a bit older though!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your holiday pics!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to some more pics!

ReplyDeleteI did once - some years ago - all Holland, South to North - on bicycle and all on bike roads, little narrow things with little bike sign and all, going through land and forest.
ReplyDeleteIf you like biking you should try.
please do so.
ReplyDeleteanything with bikes or how foreigners see the netherlands is interesting to me.. :) especially since i havent been home myself for almost a year...
Great angle...were you laying on the ground?;)
ReplyDeleteHope you rode a bike yourself while visiting? I'd like a picture of you on one please:)
