Horse Farm

This horse farm is on Main Street in South Windsor, the street shown in the last two posts.

South Windsor is on the east bank of the Connecticut River, just a couple of miles from Hartford.  Main Street is a historic street, with many houses from the 18th and 18th century built on large lots.  It is above the Connecticut River floodplain; many houses  have fields and farms behind.  This one -- obviously -- has horses.

  3. Some great holiday shots! Mostly, I'm taken by the simple tobacco barns. Guess you are giving NC a little competition. Lovely!

I thought you'd taken this photo during a stopover in Ocala! (Except in Ocala we have front porches that are even and not falling apart!) :-)

  8. This family obviously admires symmetry in design. I suspect that the inside of the house is very orderly as well.

  14. Thanks for keeping the holidays theme alive for a few more days. This one is a nice theme touch for decorations. I wonder if that carriage is on the porch year round. I can't see boxing that one up and putting it in the attic until next year. . .
