The Wadsworth Atheneum's Festival of Trees is always held in the first part of December. Artists and community groups decorate trees and wreaths, which are put up for sale to provide supplemental funding for the art museum.

I always enjoy a Festival of Trees wherever it is located. The garland is especially pretty in this shot.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good concept, for art, for the holidays, and for the financial support of the museum.
ReplyDeleteI was so taken with the trees that I almost missed the garland. It is an eye-pleasing display and a terrific fund raiser.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmassy way to raise money, love the reflections Jack, it's made me feel a little guilty about being too busy to get our tree up yet, oh well tomorrow is another day, I'm just going to have another glass of wine haha!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely! I hope they raise a tidy sum. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful setting for this event. I'd have a hard time choosing one of these beauties.

ReplyDeleteNice reflections! By the way, seeing as how you are a "true" believer, I own a bridge in New York in which I think you'd probably be interested...

A wonderful way to raise money. I would imagine it is a popular event.
ReplyDeleteI never get a Christmas tree, but would be tempted this time...
ReplyDeleteThe Gardiner Museum of Ceramics here does the same thing - it's a great idea for fundraising!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind having one of them but I imagine they are frightfully expensive. It's a wonderful idea though and they do look good!
ReplyDeletesuper festive!
ReplyDeletePretty as a picture Jack and what a great way to raise funds.
ReplyDeleteGreat event for a fundraiser.
ReplyDeleteJust one question: Does Santa really know how naughty you've been? Or nice?

I just love the lights and sparkle this time of year. The garland, wreaths, and trees all brighten the long dark nights.
ReplyDeleteThat would be fun to see. I like the reflection on the floor.
ReplyDeleteWhat nice reflections on that shiny floor. They really do stand out. So festive and bright. I have not been to a Festival of Trees in years and years. This one with that wonderful statue looks to be quite wonderful. genie
ReplyDeleteWonderful event, beautiful trees and lights.
ReplyDeleteYour perspective is wonderful which means you were able to get verrrry low to the ground to get that shot.
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
Beautiful reflections. I would be first in line to purchase a wreath!
ReplyDeleteThey look good all massed together - love the reflections too.
