More pictures I couldn't fit in the blog in the summer.
Here we have . . .
a mother-son moment at a summer concert in Elizabeth Park . . .
a fireboat making a practice run in the Connecticut River, near the riverfront parks . . .
a cow statue at the Children's Museum, sponsored by Guida's Milk, a local dairy . . .
and ebony-and-ivory martial arts practitioners in an exhibition at an Asian festival on the riverfront in the summer.
This is an eclectic collection but it shows what a vibrant place Hartford is during the summer months.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! Wonderful set of images Jack!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you went pack to post these photos. The first and last photos in particular highlight the human spirit.
ReplyDeleteYour comments yesterday on Julie's and my sites about working at the office on a Saturday touches only the tip of the iceberg. Julie stays connected to the office and clients 24/7/365, unless we are out in an extremely remote part of the world. Each of us even billed 100 hours and we had a $5,000 phone bill on our honeymoon. And the phone bill wasn't calling home to mother, because her mother was with us. It's a long story.
Sort of like making vegetable soup with the leftovers in the fridge. It's always the best and so is your mélange today. Great idea Jack. And the top portrait is fabulous.

A very nice, eclectic collection. I think I enjoyed the poignancy of the first one most.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! Vegetable soup indeed! What a terrific variety of captures for the day, Jack! I love them all -- each so different and unique! Hartford does look like a very interesting city. I always wanted to get to visit Connecticut and did managed to drive through part of it years ago to see the fall leaves/colors and they were incredible. Hope you're week is going well! Enjoy!

A nice mix of summer shots. Let's hope it's here again in a jiffy!
ReplyDeleteA nice little collection of summer memories! Soon to be replaced by snowy ones me thinks.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Mother and Son moment Jack! oh! and ebony and ivory made me smile - Delightful captures as always.
ReplyDeleteEbony and ivory is brilliant. As for son, he looks like he's about to tug and say: Mum, can we go now? ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the little boy - I can hear him saying..."Mu-u-u-m...." Either he wants to leave or he wants a treat!
ReplyDeleteYou've got some great photos here! I love the martial arts photo. Very expressive!
ReplyDeleteI'd love it if you'd add some countries to my count. You wouldn't happen to be going to Africa, would you?
I do like that martial arts photo.
ReplyDeleteNice series Jack. I like the Tai Chi shot most.
ReplyDeleteWhat a set of unique captures Jack. I love the mother and son moment.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wide variety of subjects and I like the idea of pulling out "yet to be used" photos like this- would be a shame for them not to be shared!
ReplyDeleteWonderful captures! I love the first one!

It is always good to give another occasion at those poor unpublished pictures. In this case we are really lucky to see them: a nice and interesting set.
ReplyDeleteYes, a charming selection Jack. Like the poignant "mother + son" snap best. Once again thanks for the reminder to include people in our choice of subjects - I seem to be a slow learner!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely fits under the title 'Miscellany'. Nice captures, though. I really like the martial arts pic -- and your description for itl
