You're right, brattcat. For example, even in this image, there is a broken limb hanging down on the right side of the tree. I shot low to minimimze it. But, we need to have positive attitudes.
Raking leaves (now that we cannot burn them anymore) is not my favorite activity, but it sure beats shoveling snow! Got our first snowfall yesterday afternoon and evening...very icy, too. Sigh! Jack, in an attempt to remain positive, I went out and bought a XC package.
Very pretty time of year indeed! Makes me want to take a stroll through that neighborhood with a cup of hot cocoa or a pumpkin spice latte. (Having raked my fair share of leaves over the years, though, that yard looks like a lot of work.)
I do love fall -- even now when we really had NO summer and, of course, you guys had STORMS! But the colors are so lovely and I love the sound of the leaves crunching as one walks through them! Such a beautiful capture, Jack!! Hope you've had a great weekend!
I can imagine walking across this leaf carpet and hearing the gentle crunch beneath my feet. The autumn tones look so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMakes me remember when we were kids, running through dead leaves was such a pleasure!
ReplyDeletebut it's hard to look past the damage. there are downed tree limbs (and entire trees) virtually everywhere you look.

Our ice storm of '98 was oh so similar. Google Maine Ice Storm... scary. We were out 9 days in WINTER! Others a lot more.

Try to stay upbeat Jack. Get out there and run about in those leaves!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty. Until you have to rake it all up. Or do you just mulch it down into the grass?
