Main Street, Glastonbury

I live on the west side of the Connecticut River.  Glastonbury is a pretty and historic town on the east side, maybe 20 minutes from where I live.

In Hartford, people stay on their own side of the river.  I'll bet my kids have spent more time in (the state of) Wyoming than in Glastonbury.

Weird.

  1. This is indeed a very stately looking manor.

  2. The state of Wyoming? Or is there a town on the other side of the river? A fine composed shot today.

  10. Hmmm... you have changed your layout. Not sure what I think about the font, but I like the colors. :)
This is a lovely house. And I like the bunch of flowers in front too. Makes me wonder if there is a pad transformer hiding behind them. ;)

  12. Needs a little more curb appeal if you ask me or just a touch more color.

  15. One day you will have to go all the way to Glastonbury Tor.

The houses there are different though. Not that there are many.

    This is a lovely home.

  16. Beautifully composed Jack, gorgeous image. I think that happens a lot, there is a definite North and South of the river here in Perth too. We're on the North near the coast and South is close to the hills, it always feels like another world when we have reason to go South, I just can't even imagine not living near the beach, you're right, it is kin d of weird!

  17. 'Tis a beauty of an historic house and historic flowers and historic paving...

Why, do you suppose, the river is such a divide?

  18. Very crip lines and looks of fresh paint.

At least your kids did not have to cross the river to get to BDL for their hop to Wyoming!

  19. The house itself looks rather stark - glad they put in the jolt of colourful flowers!

  20. So it's TRUE that the Connecticut River really is a psychological divide!
