Dishawn and Jasmine

Most bloggers (apart from Steffe) write about how difficult it is to approach strangers and ask if we can take their picture.  But, every now and then someone turns the tables and shouts "Take our picture!"

Dishawn and Jasmine are students at Hartford Public High School.  They were walking on Forest Street while I was checking out the Mark Twain, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Katherine Day Seymour historic houses.  They were friendly and cute kids, so I was happy to oblige them.

    They have great smiles! It is very hard to ask strangers if you can take their pictures. I'm glad they volunteered for you!

    Ha, people never ask me for a photo, that sounds a bit easier. Dishawn really knows how to smile and I love Jasmine's hair.

    I don't think it's difficult to ask strangers...most are flattered. Seldom been turned down. But, it is nice when the request is made to the photographer.

    Leave it to spirited kids; may they never lose their enthusiasm for life. Great photo, Jack.

    I've had that happen to me, also. But not too often.

    It was probably 'cause they saw this very beeg man with a wee camera and felt sorry for him. You think?

    Look at those gorgeous smiles! I can see that they'd like to have their photo taken since they are so photogenic.
    (When I've asked people to take their picture I usually get a mistrustful "What for?" and I'm a very normal looking 50-yr-old. Maybe Steffe chats first, gets to know them, and then tells them about the blog then takes their photo...
    I chatted last weekend with Barbara the biker from Mammoth and still could not ask to take her pic.)

    Well, I have lots of tourists ask me for photos, not locals, lol!!!
