Looks like a Purple Martin house. The architecture blends beautifully with the house itself. Great stone fence and gate with marvelous landscaping. Of all the outstanding houses you have posted, I think I'd like this one the best; I could live here! Are the "doors" of the birdhouse painted red as the residence?
I just had to visit so I could tell you personally I'm still laughing over the comment you left at Birdman's place about the average lifetime consumption of beer!
This is a beautiful property, I would have a birdhouse elsewhere on the grounds, they do create such a mess. I am a bird feeder and love to watch them. Maybe Martins are different. Birdman would be a good house guest...
Wow! The bird house is fancier than the house! What an interesting place. It is kind of strange to see such a plain, Puritan looking house with an Elizabethan boxwood hedge.
I was wondering the same thing as JM! That's some condo! I also love the stone wall! Terrific capture as always, Jack! I do enjoy being able to wander around your part of the world through your photos! Thanks!! Hope your weekend is going well!
That's a bird condo!!! Oh this is just so lovely.
ReplyDeleteWonderful house. It is strange they keep it just in front of the house. Or is it normal?

ReplyDeletea palace fit for a 'king'fisher.
ReplyDeleteI'd be at home here... pass the grey poupon!
ReplyDeleteSo charming house, I like so much the entrance and the stone wall, it's adorable!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, very well done!

Oh yes Jack, I can see that birdhouse full of cooing doves for some reason, I like it a lot, makes a change from the usual 'fountain' out front!!
ReplyDeleteThe whole place is quite magnificent. That stone wall, the gate, the hedges and trees and yard...but the little house is for the birds!
ReplyDeleteMust be really hot up thataway for your mind to melt! Stick your head in the freezer for awhile...OK?
They are gorgeous, both house for people and for birds! Lovely property!
ReplyDeleteWhen can I move in?
ReplyDeleteGreat place for the birds!

ReplyDeleteThat is a great house! I love the yard.
ReplyDeleteThe birds in that house must be trust fund hatchlings.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I wonder how many tenants there are. :-)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there are purple martins living in that birdhouse, I love the stone wall.

Even the bird house looks typically New England!
ReplyDeleteThe bird house is an interesting focal point in the front yard. Very impressive house!
ReplyDeleteWish it were my place... birdhouse and all... thanks for your visit!
ReplyDeleteA sweet house for sure. And that birdhouse is almost as big;)
ReplyDeleteAt least you know they treat their guests well....
Elegant and yet very welcoming, comfortable. Great birdhouse, but for purple martins it should be twice as high.
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
