Church of the Good Shepherd

The Church of the Good Shepherd was founded in 1868 by Elizabeth Colt, widow of Samuel Colt, in memory of three of their children who died in infancy.  Colt was a wealthy manufacturer of firearms.

  15. Son of a gun! :-)

    'Tis a gorgeous structure.

There seems to be a rich irony here...the Colt was the weapon that played a fundamental part in the white takeover of what is now the western U.S.

The Prince of Peace and the Prince of Guns. :-)

Thanks, Jack, for your words of consolation! Much appreciated.

  18. How very elborate. The irony is there... but I'm sure the loss of three children was heartbreaking.
