The City of Hartford's public school system has been challenged for decades by the issues facing all urban school systems in America. "Magnet schools" are a major initiative to improve public education. They are open by application to city students and suburban students, and each has a different focus. Some magnet schools focus on science and math, others on classical education, still others on the arts.
The University of Hartford has a magnet school for pre-school through the fifth grade on the UHart college campus. The UHart magnet school applies a theory about multiple intelligences. I am not taking any questions about what that means . . . you can click
here for the school's explanation.

A creative reflection shot and a message that should cause us to reflect about the future of public education and the necessity for improving it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a neat shot, and an informative post! We must not have any magnet schools around here, or it seems like I would have heard of the concept. It sounds like a good idea, but of course, there are the many students who don't get in. I really like the bright yellow stripe of awning against the brick.
ReplyDeleteNice shot, I love wing mirror reflections.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to see a school looking for creative ways to improve public education. Education of all children is critical to our country's ability to move forward. Great shot for the reflection... A reflection as you reflect, great idea!

ReplyDeleteI Neat reflection in the mirror, Jack. Multiple intelligences? Hmmm. I think I need to follow the link you've provided.
ReplyDeleteNice job on the reflection theme! We had a number of magnet schools in the Broward School District...some were excellent, some not so much. But they can be a great option for many kids.
ReplyDeleteShould I infer that you're looking back to a time when public education wasn't so challenged? Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteBravo!
ReplyDeleteNice mirror shot - I like the yellow accents on the building.
ReplyDeleteHahhh, well done Jack!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, Karl
A really intersting take on reflections...the angle is great too.
ReplyDeleteI din't know what a magnet school is, now I do.
ReplyDeleteMaybe one of these days I will capture a great side view mirror shot like this. I am a total failure at it so far. This one is great with the vibrant yellow so eye catching. Super shot.
