Thinking about the People of Japan

I had to scour my archives for a photo that could represent Japan for today's blog.  We have Japanese restaurants in central Connecticut, but that is about it.  This is a relatively new one that opened about one year ago, with an unusual (to me) buffet format.

No doubt, yesterday's earthquake in Japan is on many minds today.   The scenes we saw repeatedly on TV were frightening.  Like you, my thoughts are with the people of Japan.  They have suffered very serious damage, but the Japanese are resilient and will recover.

    A good tribute to the people in Japan in that ravished country. I hope that the world responds with genuine efforts of help. I think many countries will offer assistance and aid.

    Yes, that was a good idea. We are many people who have strong emotional feelings, watching the (BBC) news and hoping that they will hurry up and rescue many more people and that the Japanese people will get help soon from all the countries who have said they want to help.

    It's hard to conceive of such a monumental disaster and now this morning we learn that a nuclear plant has had an explosion which may mean the reactor is going through a meltdown. What that means, nobody seems to know for sure, other than it isn't good!

    What kind of driver did you get? I've gone through 5-10 recently...and I've found that they're just like the collection of putters I have: none of them work! :-)

    As a former English teacher in Japan for two years, my heart bleeds for the people of Japan and especially all the wounded and families of victims!
    I'm especially worried about my friends in Chiba!

    We don't have TV but we watched clips online and were overwhelmed. I cannot imagine going through that and felt helpless watching the coverage of it.

    By the way, you take an excellent shot of the restaurant. What pocket camera do you use, Jack? It's a good idea to have a camera in the pocket. A DSLR wouldn't do.
