Quaker Diner is on Park Road in West Hartford. It is one of those wonderful and quaint old diners that only the locals frequent.
My daughter Susie wanted to have breakfast at Quaker Diner when she visited Hartford a few weeks ago. She brought her camera along.
Thursday is Food for Thoughts on Barcelona Daily Photo. Go take a look at other food-related posts.
At first I thought this was a "Quacker" diner, and thought I'd duck out of this post. But Quaker is different. Is there such a thing as Quaker food? I know Shakers have their own food - it's that Shake and Bake stuff...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice place. What are you gonna do when you run out of your daughter's photos? Sheesh!
Jacob, maybe I should have explained that it is called Quaker Diner because it is near Quaker Lane, a major north-south road in West Hartford. There is a small Quaker meeting house on Quaker Lane. And, I have no problem in running out of photos this year, with all the snow. I haven't even shown inside photos very much this winter, because of all the weather drama outside. Susie has two more appearances scheduled this week and next, unless she sends me other worthy photos from her visit.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like my kind of place!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great place to eat. I love finding these little old fashioned diners where the locals go for good food and to meet friends.
ReplyDeleteThe outdoor light sign look lots more modern than the inside place ;-) I think it's a place where you feel very welcome!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jacob is always so clever! I love the picture of the waitress-- I often admire pictures of people but am usually too shy to take them myself.
ReplyDeleteWonderful angled shot.
ReplyDeleteActually, that's something I'm usually quite shy about, too! I've resolved to be bolder this year, and the waitress was just so cool... I knew I'd regret it if I didn't try...
ReplyDeleteI love places like this. You skipped the most important part of the story though... what did you have to eat? Pancakes I hope! They're always better at a diner.
ReplyDeleteI love it. There's nothing better than a greasy spoon with some history. I'd much rather eat at a place like the Quaker Diner than any of the new, trendy restaurants that are a dime a dozen. Great photos by Susie as usual.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I bet they have wonderful pancakes and maybe rice pudding and ......
ReplyDeleteHope it stays like that for many years.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely our kind of place as well! Thanks for your post!
ReplyDeleteSusie, you did quite well with these photo's, the waitress is a gem. I am always hesitant to take photo's of people also. I may have to attempt it. I cannot believe I am the first to mention the old radio. Good job!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a place for some good comfort food.
ReplyDeleteMany of Greensboro's citizens, from the very beginning to current times, are Quakers. However, we don't have a Quaker Diner!
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely sure I would enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteLove the sign and the composition!
ReplyDeleteAs a 'travel addicted' I had to click on the flickr link and I was amazed. Gorgeous shots! It's great to see many places I've been to through your daughters eyes.
