The stage of the Hartford Stage Company is usually off limits to photography. But, recently the theater completed an extensive renovation and expansion, and they invited the public to visit (and take pictures).
This picture shows actors during a rehearsal. Regrettably, I didn't see the performance and it wasn't clear to me whether they were rehearsing the current show or an upcoming one. So, I can't shed any light on what was going on.
I do love it when a theatre is updated! The theatre is near and dear to my heart.
ReplyDeleteMy two passions are golf and theater. Now I just need to see a Hartford golf course. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a really nice perfomance area. Much grander than anything we have here in Jackson!
It looks like a play about Adam and Eve with all that vegetation. Nice to hear of a theater renovation...especially during an economic downturn. Theaters usually get short thrift.
ReplyDeleteAh...yeah, turkey and stuff is good for you. Eat and enjoy. I think we're going to eat out. First year in a long time we're staying home. Just too much travel of late.
Looks like a nice theater. I hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteGood capture in what must have been low light conditions.
ReplyDeleteThe set is from Hartford Stage's production of Antony & Cleopatra, which ran until 11/7; the actors seen rehearsing were part of the Hartford Stage teen Company Ensemnble's production of "Breakdancing Shakespeare: Macbeth" (Birnam Wood is advancing).
