No Fishing Today

A great blue heron stood on a fountain whose water was turned off.  

I must have waited an hour for him to take off to grab one of the abundant fish.  No luck.  

But at least a parade of Canada geese and their goslings gave me something to photograph.

 When he finally took off, he just flew a short distance and hid in the trees behind him.

So, I gave up and took off, too.
