Calusa Warrior

Much of the land occupied by the Calusa in southwest Florida was shell mounds.
Warriors fashioned weapons from wood and shells.
Body paint was important; Calusa means "fierce people."

Good info. Body paint (tattoos, football faces) are still important in many cultures. I have posted a different kind of warrior today. Go see and marvel, Mr. Snowbird!!

The club reminds me a bit of similar ones I've seen in indigenous displays, albeit more sleek and thinner.
