Donut Shop

I'm back in Naples.

The drive home from the airport goes past this old donut shop on Bonita Beach Road and
Old Route 41.  For some inexplicable reason, the donut shop has a conventional mural
on its side.  No, sorry, I can't explain it.  Visit Monday Mural for more photos of murals.

What an odd-looking building! No mural, however conventional, could make it "normal".

Maybe the owner paints when he or she is not busy with the donuts.

It really is an odd building, Jack!

that is a very strange looking building which probably makes it perfect for a donut shop.

Quite a contrast between the building and the mural!

Art needs no excuse to exist. Lewis Mumford, the Cultural Anthropologist, says that public art is one of the defining characteristics of civilization. BTW, did you buy some donuts while you were there? Just saw a Food Channel program on donut shops and have been craving them.

The building is very odd looking. I was expecting to see a police car parked there, you know how much they like donuts. :)

The building appeals about as much as donuts do, which isn't saying much.

The person in pink just makes it perfect!
