A Stolen Idea

My friend Deb has created The Front Door Project to show off front doors of houses she likes.
On Facebook a week or two ago she showed a prototypical West Hartford red brick Tudor house.
It is a common style around here.  The distinctive feature was a surprising apple green door.

I was driving down the Boulevard and saw it.  So, I stopped and took the same picture as Deb.
Don't they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

Many years ago a blogger invited people to send her photos of attractive or unusual doors. Once a week she would then post the photo, which featured doors from around the world. I loved the blog, but as all things seem to happen, she eventually discontinued her blog. Perhaps someone in this group might want to continue this practice?! I love the door you featured. You know, I've heard that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

PS. Many years ago while attending a workshop in DC, I bought a large poster: "The Doors of Washington, DC" which features about 30+ doors, and it is quite beautiful. . . for a poster. I still have it framed and occasionally drag it out and hang it for awhile in our basement family room.

One rarely sees that shade of green on a building.

I wouldn't have thought I'd like that color for a door but I do! I also like that house. Very nice.

The question is, "What is behind the green door?" That is a striking, or it is a shocking color?

And what is on the front door? Looks like a very nice place to live, and I guess they have a nice and more private garden at the back.

Love the door, love the fact that you are admitting to using her idea!

Have a great weekend!

Kate's comment reminds me that I have a battered poster somewhere of Irish doors. And I took many pictures of doors I loved in Paris. This door is certainly worth repeated postings. It's pretty wonderful.
