Out of the Jurisdiction: Girona

There was a bus ride to Girona, a town in Catalonia an hour and a half northeast of Barcelona.

Bridges and colorful buildings reflect in the river.
I am linking today's post with Weekend Reflections.

The cathedral is visible from a bridge with bright red supports.

Two Chinese girls asked me to photograph them on the bridge.
I did a test shot with my own camera before doing it for them with their cameras.

A local tradition gives good luck to people who climb a pole and kiss the butt of a lion statue.
Honest.  I wouldn't make it up.

Catalans are pushing for a referendum on independence.  The central government and courts oppose.

I look for images that include the name of the city.

Girona has a nice promenade lined with shops and restaurants on each side.

The old and impressive Tapestry of Creation is a feature of the museum of the Girona cathedral.

Great pictures, reflections and all. Is the Chinese girl local? Going to Barcelona for 3 nites in a few weeks, so probably no time to venture elsewhere. Girona looks nice. Any tips on Barcelona?
