U. S. Open Pickleball Championships

Last week Naples hosted the U.S. Open Pickleball Championships.
There were 1,300 competitors on 46 courts at East Naples Community Park.

Pickleball is new to me but is fast becoming popular.  It is a tennis-like game played on a smaller (badminton-sized) court with a hard (ping pong-like) paddle and a hard (whiffle ball-like) ball.

It's new to me too, but it looks like fun.

Thank you for this post. I did not know anything about pickleball. I am sure they will all cheer the champion.

I've never heard of it, either, but I love the name. Imagine playing it with real pickles.

My husband started playing this last month. There's a local group and it's suitable for older adults.

New to me too, not sure we have this - though no doubt it'll arrive one day.

It certainly looks as if Naples is ready for the popularity of this game!
