Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to the mothers out there.

And to those who are with their mothers.

And to those who wish they could be with their mothers today.

This is my mother, painted in the late 1950s by an artist in my home town, Dick Ellery.

That is a fine looking portrait. It must be a family treasure.

All the comments echo my reactions. It is a wonderful keepsake and so smart to keep it for future generations.

Thank you for your comments today, Jack. I hope life does not become too complicated. Sorry about the pun on my Bomb Squad shot. I could not resist. Tom Otterness is the sculptor and this is the first of his works I have posted. He has a bull and bear on Wall St. and another sculpture in Battery Park in NYC. His work is great. The one I posted is at the Joslyn Museum in Omaha, NE.
