It has been a looooooong fall foliage season

Yes, it is very pretty when the trees hold their leaves well into autumn.

But, it is time for the trees to drop the leaves.  If Connecticut has a significant snow or ice storm before the leaves drop, tree limbs will crack and power lines will follow.

Pretty it is. I hope the ice storm stays away.

Gorgeous colours indeed Jack. I feel greatly blessed to have experienced your Fall on Vancouver Island, having returned to Australia only 9 days ago - the rich colours were a feast for the eyes. Thank you for sharing.

Very pretty but I understand your concern about the snow and ice coming. We had that problem when we lived in Maine. The ice storm played havoc with the trees and power lines, it was a nightmare.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster, but it is pretty!

You are right, I've seen that happen. I actually was working in Denver in a September years ago when an early snow storm snapped the limbs off of over half of the city's trees.
That top photo is gorgeous!

There are still a lot of leaves on the trees here too, Jack! It has been a strange fall - lots of yellows but fewer reds than normal.

Lovely! It has seemed to stretch out here as well.

Never thought of that problem. We rarely get snow this early. We've had a couple of sharp frosts and the leaves are dropping fast - all over my new car! Boo!

The top shot is perfect. The East Coast surely knows how to do autumn.
