A snowbird shows photos from southwest Florida and southern New England and other places he goes.
I have seen one (1), butterfly so far this year, but it was too quick for me.
When I was a kid we called them King Billy. I have been told it was just a Canadian thing.
Nice capture! Some beautiful colours on the butterfly.
Oh la! It's gorgeous Jack! I don't think I have ever seen a Monarch, although that might be because I haven't been looking carefully enough :)
i haven't seen butterflies here yet, just little colorful moths!
I haven't seen one yet this year.
I love seeing them all year too! Nice shot.
What a beauty!
They won't be here for a while yet - a big storm coming tonight!
Jack, there will be no butterflies around here for a couple months yet. So, I'm delighted to see this Monarch. In the fall we sometimes see congregations of thousands of them. Thank you for continuing to visit my blog while it was on autopilot. I was traveling away from the Internet for the past few weeks. Went to Cuba a week before President Obama, and got home this morning.
You are lucky to have butterflies all the time. I have to wait to see these beauties here:)
I don't think we have these beauties. Their life cycle is incredible.
I didn't know that our butterflies spend the winter in Florida...What a beauty, Jack !
Wonderful creatures! I've read that their situation in México after migration has improved.
