Out of the Jurisdiction: White Rhinos

Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is in Zambia, near Victoria Falls.  There are seven white rhinos.
They are not native; the rhinos were imported from South Africa.  The rhinos are under
a 24/7 armed watch to prevent poachers from taking their horns.

That is SO sad to learn of the poachers!!! Beautiful animals and a great shot, as always. Hope you have a great new week!!

That poor animal has a whole new predator to contend with.

They're such grand animals... it's a shame poachers still want to go for them, but the real problem, and the people who should be wiped off the face of the earth, are those who buy the horns.

Odd looking things aren't they? But so rare and special. Great photo, Jack.

Glad to hear they are being protected. The desire for their horns is all about misinformation in traditional Chinese medicine. These animals need all the protection they can get.

This is a great photograph, but how sad that they need 24/7 protection. Says a lot about people.
