Presidents Day

Today is Presidents Day.  I hate that.  In the past there were separate holidays for the two giants of the American Presidency.  Lincoln's birthday is February 12 and Washington's birthday is
February 22.  But, I suppose I must get with the times . . .

When in Manhattan last June for the wedding of the son of a good friend, I stayed near Wall Street.
I came across a group of history students, joyful to be posing at the feet of
one of their country's great heroes, George Washington.

Any future presidents there, do you think?

The only thing I know about presidents day is that it pops up in my google calendar, my iMac calendar and my phone calendar. AND it won't delete!

I guess you Americans were having too many holidays so those in power decided to combine the two days into one. What do you think? Could that be possible? ;))

A fun shot- having people in the pic really reinforces how big the statue is.

I've never known two separate days for the presidents. I guess they just don't want people having too many holidays!

Such energy, even when posing for photos!

George looks as if he's saying "Pipe down, kids. We're doing a portrait here."

Oh, that kid energy!
