The Lady from Haiti

Rachel was sitting on a bench outside The Lady From Haiti, a gallery on Naples' Fifth Avenue South.
She was dressed in brightly colored clothes, so I asked if she was from Haiti.  "Yes," she answered, and gave me a handout explaining that this is her mother's store.  It has been operating
in Naples for 20 years.  The new Fifth Avenue South store opened a month ago.

The story about the beginnings of The Lady From Haiti is on their website.
It is worth reading.

Nice find, Jack -- and, nice story on their website. Isn't it interesting what you discover when you talk to people? Did you ask her thoughts about Congress member-elect Mia Love from Utah? (Hopefully, Rachel is aware of her.) If their store has been in Naples for 2 decades, they're definitely doing something right!

I'm just wondering if the two frogs are two charming princes waiting for a kiss from her .. :o)

What a great story. I'd enjoy looking in the store. The media coverage for Haiti tends to be pretty depressing over here, all about poverty (isn't it meant to be the poorest country in the world?). We hear little about its colourful culture, so it is very good that someone is celebrating that.
