Naples Botanical Garden II - LEGO Butterfly

Yesterday you saw the real butterflies at Naples Botanical Garden.

Here is a large Eastern tiger butterfly made from 37,481 LEGO bricks.

Through mid-May, the Naples Botanical Garden is exhibiting 15 large
LEGO brick sculptures designed and constructed by
Sean Kenney, a LEGO certified professional.

THAT is an other great job !!
and the work is a real piece of art, and patience..

Something like that takes a lot of vision, talent and patience. I remember seeing a huge LEGO development in the Mall of America in Minneapolis a few years ago. It's amazing what can be done with these things!

My sons had legos. I never contemplated trying to make a butterfly out of legos.

wow, isn't that amazing! we went to legoland before we moved from ca and it's just so incredible what they can do with legos!

Every kid I know used to have Legos, but none seemed to manage this kind of artistry.

That sounds like a great exhibit. I think I would enjoy it.

That's fabulous, Jack!
Painting the utility boxes is a city-sponsored project which hires individual artists to paint the murals in an attempt to prevent graffiti and also to promote street art.

That is taking Lego to a new dimension. Wonderfully photographed. Love the setting too!

My grandson would flip over this. On the other hand, I think he has more fun leaving them all over the house for the pug to eat!

The Lego revival is incredible.

Lego has always been an obsession of mine, even past my younger years. I can appreciate what kind of work and planing must have gone into, to create this.

Now that's a creative idea. I think of LEGOs as static. They're just blocks. But here they almost literally take flight.

This is very nice. The Seattle Experience Music Project had a room devoted to reproductions of skyscrapers made with legos. We were underwhelmed; compared with this one even moreso now.
