Art in the Park

The Naples National Art Festival was held  over the weekend.

Barbara paints realistic watercolors of Florida birds and nature scenes.

Darren offers large-scaled, brightly colored and super-detailed photographs of Italy.

A happy artist and happy buyer do business.

Jef creates ceramic sculptures of humans, incorporating animal forms into their bodies.
He calls them manimals.  (It is worth clicking on the photo to see the details.)
Oops.  Didn't see the no photography sign
until back home on the computer.

Those Italy photos are great and the watercolor image also very good. The statue in the end is a bit scary but I can appreciate the work that must have gone into it!

I your second photo, the picture behind the man is a scene of a walkway down to Lake Como in Bellagio, Italy. I have an oil painting of the same scene in the library of our home.

(Sorry not to comment for a while, as we just returned from a small-ship whale-watching photography cruise on the Sea of Cortez.)

Ah, being naughty again with the camera, huh, Jack!! Of course I'm glad you're so naughty because I get to enjoy the results! Great shots for the day as always and such interesting people as well as art! Enjoy your new week!!

Thanks, Jack. I like being able to see this art even though I'm way up north. In your defense, the no photography sign is very small.

Love the watercolors, no need of detailed pictures of Italy here, but I would like to see more of those strange no-photos sculptures!

A lot of artists have had their work copied and or reproduced by big off-shore companies and this has made them very nervous around people with cameras. I have heard some real horror stories from artists.
Love the pics and it makes sense for the artists to do a southern tour especially this winter!

It looks very busy, and reminds me of a festival we have here.

Nothing like an outdoor art festival.

The new Audubon? The lower bird seems to be an extension of her hair.

We have a couple of big art shows a year. I guess everyplace does now. Many of the artists travel great distances. Seems like a hard way to make a living.

I think I've visited the booths of all these folks at the Ocala Fall Art festival. Great fun! I had one guy get really made one time when I was photographing some of his art work! I apologized and said "Jack made me do it!"
