Immokalee

Immokalee is a farm community east of Fort Myers and Naples.
Major crops are cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes and citrus.
Immokalee produces about 90 percent of the USA's tomatoes during winter months.

Immokalee is heavily Hispanic (71 percent) and African American (18 percent).
Many residents are migrant agricultural workers.

The February theme for City Daily Photo bloggers is "Entry."

Nice symmetry here.

Love the symmetry of this piece, even down to the colours of the camisas of the two men. This is a wonderful forerunner of "entry" for the February theme.

Very nice composition. We've been through this area many times in the past and you've certainly captured the feel of the place! Well done!

This is a beautifully composed photo! As for those tomatoes, I think they need to import some Midwestern soil. I haven't had a good tomato since I moved to from Illinois.

I like this photo a LOT! What a bonus to have someone wearing red ride by on a bike!

The lines of the stairs are fascinating!

That's an incredibly good slice of life photo but I wouldn't have associated this with a farm community.

As you may have seen, there'll be a surprise on VDP tomorrow.

Super shot, Jack!

Love this pic Jack with it's perfectly placed touches of red. One moment later and Mr Red-cap would have cycled off the scene.

I saw him two blocks away and waited for him to arrive where I wanted him.

I agree about the symmetry.

Really like the symmetry in the architecture and simple rhythms in the color. And I learned something.
