Great Blue Heron

I see great blue herons often, but most won't pose for a close-up.

It's great when a GBH decides to cooperate!

Not a good looking chap, if you ask me. But heck you're in a marsh so you get what you get.
Go Pats!

It's easy to see why that beak is a weapon.

Excellent shot. I enjoy watching them at work fishing.

Great bird photo. In fact, I've enjoyed your recent bird posts. The Sandhill Cranes migrate across Nebraska in the spring and fall. The Blue Herons live around here in summer.

These are such majestic birds, especially in flight! And this is a very nice photograph of one. You must have had a long lens! :)

You must have a lot of patience to capture this bird. I've seen them around here, but never quite as close as this. Nice work!
