Cottage

Naples is an odd mix of wealth and poverty and everything in between.
Fourteen mansions are currently available for more than $10 million each.
Some well-located houses are bought for more than a million dollars and
leveled to build the next mansions.

And, some well-maintained old cottages sleep contentedly
where they were placed 50 - 75 years ago.

This looks perfect! I'll take an old style beach cottage over a mansion any day.

That is a beautiful cottage. I agree with Sue. Don't want a mansion. But can one afford house insurance, even on a cottage?

That's quite a rift. But I guess this is more and more common with the economy today.

I like that little cottage. It looks like a great little winter retreat.

Guess I'm just a "cottage" person, too -- I like nice, well kept ones, but the idea of roaming around in a mansion just isn't my cup of tea or wine or whatever. Great shots of the cottage! Enjoy your weekend, Jack!!

I am getting in the cottage line, too, Jack. Love these photos with the shadows of the fence and the pergola. I guess that's a pergola.

Lovely seaside cottage!

Sounds like the real estate market here in Toronto! I like the cottage too, Jack, although I bet some of those expensive places are beauties.

The cottage has far more appeal than a beachfront mansion.

This could only be at the seaside. Looks much cosier than a mansion.

Short on landscaping. Tell them to knock off $100k.

I like the idea of these cottages not far from the sea...

Mansions are fun to look at - like art museums. But this cottage looks homey and manageable. I'll take it!

I know that I would be very content in this cottage.

As RedPat said, sounds a LOT like Toronto. ;))

Yes, I could imagine the cottage to be a home. Not so a mansion.

Very cute! During the last couple of real estate booms in California there were many older homes all over some of the more "desirable" areas that were bought as teardowns, often replaced with ego palaces.
